BOGOTA, June 30 (Reuters)Colombia’s leftist President-elect Gustavo Petro claimed on Thursday he experienced picked Jose Antonio Ocampo to be finance minister in his government when he starts his expression in August.

Ocampo, 69, who has a Phd in economics from Yale College, is an experienced public servant who earlier served as Colombia’s minister of finance in the govt of previous President Ernesto Samper, and has held various positions in the United Nations.

He is at the moment a professor at Columbia University in the United States.

“Jose Antonio Ocampo will be our finance minister (to) develop a productive financial system and an economy for existence,” Petro said in a concept on Twitter along with a image of the two adult men standing aspect by aspect.
