One of North Texas’ biggest industrial building owners is expanding its footprint with more construction.

Prologis already owns more than 200 Dallas-Fort Worth warehouses with almost 40 million square feet of space.

The D-FW metro area is one of the largest markets for the San Francisco-based commercial property firm, which has about 1 billion square feet of industrial real estate worldwide.

Prologis is planning to build four more warehouses in Arlington to add to its already huge North Texas holdings.

The more than 700,000-square-foot business park is planned on New York Avenue near Interstate 30 and will cost more than $45 million, according to planning documents filed with the state.

Prologis plans to begin construction on the Arlington project this spring with an early 2023 opening set.

The Arlington project follows Prologis’ recent plans to build two warehouses with more than 1.3 million square feet in the Mountain Creek Business Park in Southwest Dallas. Prologis also recently added two more buildings to its holdings in Coppell near Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

The D-FW area is the country’s fastest-growing industrial building market with more than 50 million square feet of construction.

The buildings occupied by Vistra face the Bush Turnpike in Irving.
